Code of Conduct/Parent Handbook

A strict code of conduct will be followed at the School to stimulate a productive learning environment and to promote responsible citizenship. Systems of rewards and consequences will be implemented by highly qualified classroom teachers and followed according to code of conduct measures outlined by the Sponsor.
Discipline measures will be fair and consistent, utilizing best practice techniques that promote student ownership of behavior. Students will be encouraged to take responsibility for their actions so that they may learn from their mistakes.
The School commits to rewarding the efforts of its students, including positive reinforcement for students demonstrating exemplary behavior and conduct. Avant Garde Academy® will follow the student code of conduct approved by the governing School District of the county, found below.

UNIFORM POLICY

Our uniform policy encourages students to feel accepted, unified and increases self-confidence. This policy is intended to promote a safe and supportive learning environment and improve school safety and discipline.

This policy will be enforced beginning on the FIRST day of school.

Consequences for students out of uniform can range from a detention to a 3 day suspension. Please be aware that a student will not be allowed in the building if they are out of uniform for security reasons. Parents will be required to pick them up.

Uniforms must be purchased from the approved vendor. Uniform requirements include the following:
– Collared polo with school logo in the color assigned to your grade level (middle school is teal or gray; high school is navy or maroon/burgundy)
– Loose fitted pants/shorts/skorts must be a solid black, navy or tan. Cargo pants, jeans, leggings, and joggers are not allowed. Shorts, skorts and pants must be worn at the appropriate length. Shorts, skorts and pants must be navy, black or khaki in color only. Shorts and skorts must be no shorter than 1 inch above the knee.
– Shoes must be black, closed toe and closed back (crocs and slippers are not permitted)
– PE uniforms are required but are only allowed during the class. Students must change and put on their regular school uniform for all other classes.
– Dyed hair is not allowed, unless it is a natural color.
– Only AGA jackets sold by our vendor are allowed.
– ID badges will be provided by the school are part of the uniform and must be worn at all times
